PARIS FASHION WEEK SPRING 2010

Paris Fashion Week for Spring 2010 has started today.  As we have reported on CanadaStyle, the fashion weeks began with New York, followed by London, Milan and now Paris. Expect to see shows from Dior, Chanel  and new emerging designers! We will be bringing you the fashion show videos and trend breakdowns per top collections.

In Paris Fashion Week's news, last night began with the ANDAM Fashion Awards.

"ANDAM (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Art de la Mode), which has the backing of the French Government, is one of the oldest institutions promoting emerging talent in the world. It was founded in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour, and Pierre Bergé, co-founder of the House of Yves Saint Laurent and lifelong partner of the late couturier, has served as its president since its inception."

London designer Giles Deacon took home the 160,000 Euro prize. His latest collections include fun prints, sheath dresses, sexy thigh high leather boots paired with super short minis and high-waisted trousers. Here is What New York Magazine had to say about him:

"Ever since his groundbreaking debut in 2004, British designer Giles Deacon has fine-tuned his vision of high craft mixed with a steady stream of wit. He spent time at the Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, and Gucci studios, among others, and he's honed his knack for mixing superior craftsmanship with whimsical irreverence. One of the hottest tickets on London runways, Giles dabbles with unlikely proportion and padding, wild prints, and pop-culture references that range from Poe to Peter Saville. As his style matures, he's transitioning from editorial to wearable, and retailers are watching"

FASHION NEWS: LAUREN CONRAD LAUNCHES COLLECTION AT KOHL'S

Lauren Conrad, an actress who became famous on the popular show The Hills is launching a celebrity designer collection at Kohl's department stores in the U.S. tomorrow.

There is a tendency in the fashion world to treat celebrity design lines as less pertinent than the established and dedicated fashion designer collections. Can't really say that we blame them as seemingly everyone Including Amy Winehouse is fast to add "fashion designer" to their resume. Lauren's collection is cute and youthful. Paris runway worthy? No. Does it have a mass appeal for Kohl's shoppers and will it sell? We think so.

RUDSAK: CANADIAN FASHION DESIGNER PROFILE

rudsak evik small.jpgSpend one icy winter in Montreal (proclaimed as Canada's most stylish city) and you know that your coats, bags and boots better be as sturdy and long lasting on the inside as they are pretty, sexy and fashionable on the outside. Otherwise you will be one hot looking Frozen Mess. To save you from that sorry state, enter Montreal fashion design shop: Rudsak.

Starting in 1994 as a family business, Evik Asatoorian created a brand in Rudsak that is timeless in its efforts and designs. Fur lined jackets, hefty bags and smart shoes and boots in a variety of colors and styles for men and women fill the Rudsak collection. The designs are meant for serious winter but we found some pieces to be as gorgeous as anything coming from the New York, Paris or Milan runways. The over the knee high heeled and motorcycle boots are HOT enough to freeze for.

Thankfully for us, Evik Asatoorian believes in designing fashion for long lasting quality:

"You buy at volume stores for moments, but durability and styling don't change overnight for us. Trust me: Tomorrow, you're not going to say you don't want our bag anymore." Elle Canada

With 11 locations across North America now, Rudsak has become one of the most recognized Canadian outerwear designers. Probably because like a fine wine, a piece from Rudsak will only get better with age.

STYLIST PHILLIP BLOCH'S FASHION TIPS FOR CANADASTYLE READERS

By Editor, CanadaStyle.ca

FASHION TIP : DON'T COPY THE WHOLE RED CARPET LOOK OR RISK LOOKING LIKE A 'HOT MESS"!

Phillip Bloch, celebrity stylist @ CanadaStyle.jpgCanadaStyle recently spoke to Phillip Bloch , the celebrity stylist extraordinaire ,style ambassador at Fashion Weeks around the globe and per Cosmo one of  the "Four Most Lusted After Men in Fashion".

In other words, this is THE man you want to ask all your fashion and style questions. And that's exactly what we did, lot's of them, keeping our readers in mind.

Here is the first set of Q and A's in the ongoing series on fashion tips, do's and don'ts:

CS: We see many beautiful and very expensive  looks on the red carpet, how can normal women translate that into their wardrobes?

Phillip: Fashion follows this route: from the Runway to the Red carpet to the Consumer. The normal woman should not try to wear a full length animal print gown for example, even if it's shown on the runway or they see a movie star wearing it. Instead focus on small items in the same print such as : shoes, purse even lining of a coat. This will update your wardrobe and not be over the top.

CS: You mentioned that animal prints are still a big trend. Any you suggest in particular?

Phillip: I still like leopard and zebra is big also. Just, please don't mix the prints! Same thing applies to some of the neon colors we are seeing, the hot pinks, bright yellows, lime green. Go out in one of those in the real world and you risk looking like a 'HOT MESS" ! Stick to smaller items which can show a flash of color.

JENNIFER CONNELLY: CELEBRITY STYLE - GET THE LOOK FOR LESS

Jennifer Connelly stole the spotlight in a controversial red dress at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her new film Creation.

Fans and fashion critics weren't quite sure what to do with the Bottega Veneta dress' fit. Too snug? Too sheer? No stranger to high style and cutting-edge fashion choices, Jennifer was perfectly on trend with the deep red hue for fall and the unique neckline.

You, too, can look stunning in form-fitting red this fall. Embrace the bandage trend (think Herve Leger) and accessorize with sky-high pumps, a woven clutch, and a purple statement cocktail ring. (See closeup of Connelly's bag and rock here.) If you can, walk the red carpet with Paul Bettany. That also helps.

Here's how to get the look:

FASHION NEWS: ANNIE LEIBOVITZ TO DESIGN FOR LOUIS VUITTON

Annie Leibovitz, one of the world's foremost celebrity and fashion photographers is one of 6 famous personalities asked by Louis Vuitton to design a new leather bag or suitcase to be auctioned off for Red Cross charity. Leibovitz's has shot the covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone magazines for the last 25 years. Here is a look at some of her work.

Leibovitz is a perfect choice for such an inititiative because in addition to an excellent eye and artistic flair she also brings a working woman's sensibility to the project.

Her style bag design of choice? A practical backpack which holds all of her equipment and leaves her hands free. CanadaStyle has previously profiled the growing trend of the backpack as the new fashion IT bag and have captured the look in street fashion scenes in Montreal, Canada . Perhaps Louis Vuitton will consider selling backpacks based on Leibovitz's designs to the public, it is sure to be a hot seller.

Of the other 5 creators : Damien Hirst has designed a case to hold medical equipment,  composer Gustavo Santaolalla created a bag for a musical instrument, Spanish chef Ferran Adria- luggage for cooking utensils, Patrick-Louis Vuitton a case for water painting equipment.

The least practical and frankly extravagant design came from a Louis Vuitton creative designer himself, Marc Jacobs, who requested a fancy trunk so that his treasured bull terriers, Daisy and Alfred, could travel in style.

The products, to be crafted by the company's leather craftsmen will be auctioned off at Sotheby's Nov.17,2009 to to benefit Red Cross for it's 150th year anniversary.

FASHION NEWS: VAMPIRE STYLE - TOO MUCH OR JUST RIGHT?

We've seen our celebs decked out in white as a ghost or rather vampire makeup complete with red blood lips and black nail polish. Pretty much all fall/winter collections showed some type of leather, cut outs, metal garments, which if we watch Twilight, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries, most of our favorite bloodsuckers seem to be wearing. Well then a True Blood jewelry line created by none other than the tv channel the show runs on, HBO, should not be too much of a surprise.

According to this article, HBO has teamed up with jewelry designer Udi Behr to create a collection inspired by the True Blood show.

Behr says:

"I had a lot of fun with [the collection]. I didn't just want to make another vampire jewelry line, and that was challenging because I wanted to really go beyond that," said Behr. "I looked to the spirit of the show. The show is very sexy and seductive, and it talks about eternity. I tried to capture that in what I [designed]."

Yes this jewelry collection is rather pretty, but all this vampire inspired makeup and fashions are downright strange. And yes we do realize the Goth look has been around for some time now. Still this new wave of Vampire love is different.

Talk about ART imitating life imitating ART.

For example: On True Blood, the vampire fashion look is designed or put together by the tv stylist. They in turn are inspired or follow an idea of what a vampire should look like and be wearing, from something they saw in an old movie or read in a book. The Vampire look in the book comes from the writer's own imagination in the first place!  In full circle when a show, new book or movie becomes popular , we have mainstream designers picking up and 'building' on the look that came from someone's imagination of what a fictional character was supposed to look and dress like. So that pretty much makes Bram Stoker, writer of Dracula, the original fashion designer of the vampire look (that is of course if he didn't get his inspiration from some other writer).

Sharon Stone in Spanish Vogue.jpg

                                           Sharon Stone in Vogue Espana

Well, as we have said here before. The best FASHION is the one that does not take itself too seriously. At least Sharon Stone is smiling even though she is dressed like the vampires in the New Moon film...

DAVID DIXON: CANADIAN FASHION DESIGNER PROFILE

david dixon barbie collection- in color1.JPGDavid Dixon may very well be best known as the fashion designer who brought Barbie clothes to the real woman, but he has been a force in Canadian and International fashion design for quite some time.

The overriding theme in Dixon's main collections is quiet elegance. According to his website, he believes that when it comes to clothing, women respond first to colour and texture, and thus Dixon favours the simplified and modern silhouette that lets him focus on the textiles. This attention to detailing has prompted National Post fashion writer to refer to his style as " David Dixon's typical immaculate, multi-seamed, darted and paneled tailoring."

This tailored sense of style and love of color is quite evident in his Barbie collection, where hot pinks, houdstooth, plaid peacoats, lace dresses and ribbon gowns make dressing up fun for grownups. Dixon was the first Canadian fashion designer to design for Barbie as a part of their 50th anniversary celebration for Fashion Week. The collection was described as "perky, but very wearable" blending the modern and vintage 1959 Barbie style in a ready-to-wear line.  Dixon's Barbie style is sold exclusively at The Bay.

History:

After studying at Ryerson and apprenticing under Alfred Sung, Dixon started his own line in 1995 at the Toronto Fashion Incubator, but quickly knew he had to step out on his own. Now his hard work has paid off as he has made fans of Pamela Anderson, Meg Ryan, Jeanne Beker and Jennifer Love Hewitt and many other celebrities and fashionistas. His fashions are sold across Canada, the United States, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Germany, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

"Women buy something of mine for an occasion of sorts, and they end up wearing it all the time," he said of his timeless pieces, and also in reference to fashionista's smaller budgets. "There's not a date attached to them." (Toronto Sun)

We at CanadaStyle like those sentiments and look forward to catching up with David Dixon at the upcoming LG Fashion week in Toronto, Canada. See profiles of  your favorite Canadian designers here.

While the t-shirt and cardigan relaxed look is great for everyday, we also enjoy the First Lady's dressier looks for special occasions which of course always include showing those sculpted arms.

She has made fashion accessible to the average woman and People magazine has aptly named her to the 10 best dressed list.

"I don't consider myself a fashionista," Michelle Obama tells PEOPLE, but many would beg to differ. She's made a signature style out of sleeveless sheaths and shown an uncanny knack for mixing high and low - wearing everything from Gap and J.Crew to Michael Kors and Narciso Rodriguez"

CANADA STYLE INTERVIEWS DEAN CATEN - DSQUARED

DEAN CANTEN DSQUARED WITH CANADA STYLE BLOG EDITOR.JPGBy Editor, CanadaStyle.ca

"Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy" is an apt description for the dynamic design team made of brothers Dean and Dan Canten who together form DSquared.  Nevertheless when I spoke with Dean Canten, his down to earth manner, warmth and the open smile was very much Canadian.

The brothers, who grew up in Toronto and come from modest means, have created one of the most recognized fashion brands in the world. They style the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow and numerous other celebs and fashionistas. The brothers attended Parson's School of Design in New York and in 1991 moved to Milan where after working with fashion industry notables such as Versace they launched their men's line in 1994 and women's in 2003. Their sophisticated, yet fun fashions infused with Canadian references and coupled with impeccable tailoring and attention to detail continue to win over devoted followers worldwide.

The designers were in town to be honored with a Walk of Fame Star and I had a chance to chat with Dean Canten.

E: I think that DSquared being such a breakout international brand really puts Canada on the fashion map. You made Canadian style cool!  DSquared deserves a Walk of Fame Star and much more. What do you feel has made you such International success? What would you recommend to other Canadian designers?

D. Showing in the major fashion centres such as London, Milan, Paris will help to bring the designer into the international fashion arena. We started by showing our clothes at a tradeshow, not even at fashion week... A buyer liked our clothes and it went from there.

 E. You and your brother are the youngest of nine children and grew up in North Toronto. Are your siblings (other than your brother) in fashion?

 D. No, they all have regular jobs. Dan and I are the only ones in fashion. Our family is why we come back home so often. As to why we are so many? We are Italian.

Not happy to rest on their design laurels, the busy brothers also host their own Satellite radio show on Sirius XM radio and are hosting a reality TV show called 'Launch My Line" about how to become a designer. The show premieres this Wednesday, Sept.16th on Bravo.

As they say, "You can take the boys out of Canada, but you can never take Canada out of the boys!" And we are lucky for it!

MEGAN FOX: CELEBRITY STYLE - GET THE LOOK FOR LESS

Megan Fox wowed fans and media when she arrived at the red carpet premiere of her new film, Jennifer's Body, in a mini black lace dress. With barely any accessories, aside from her long waves, she had everyone swooning.

Megan's look was designed for the red carpet at TIFF, so it's very formal. We, at CanadaStyleBlog  thought you might like something a little more casual, that still captures the sexy look for less.

MARIE SAINT PIERRE: CANADIAN FASHION DESIGNER PROFILE

MSP avec copyright resize350.jpgFashion designer Marie Saint Pierre established Marie Saint Pierre Design Inc. in 1987 and has been considered one of Canada's great design icons ever since. She is also a charity founder, an independent spirit and one of our editor's favorite Canadian designers.

Ever since her first collection in 1986, Marie Saint Pierre has always offered her very personal vision of fashion for a women that desires intelligent clothing; innovative, aesthetic and functional. Her signature collection is about movement, where all the elements are interchangeable, worn based on the mood of the moment. Nothing is imposed, everything is subtle. (The Heart Truth)

We at CanadaStyle told you about Marie back in April when our editor 'discovered' the designer's store in Montreal and fell in love with her fierce fashions.

Here is some background and history:

Marie Saint Pierre graduated from LaSalle College in 1986 as one of the most promising fashion-design students in Montreal. By 1989, she was the first Quebecer to be selected to show her work at the New York Fashion Coteries. This was only the beginning of the accolades and opportunities granted the designer for her collections, entrepreneurial ventures and her service to her community. Saint Pierre was elected Designer Elle Québec of the Year in 1994. In 1995, she was the first designer to showcase her work at Collections Créateurs in Paris. In 2006, she launched the Behind the Scenes Fashion Collection, a limited edition of Bratz dolls. In the same year, she was recognized as a YWCA Woman of Distinction for her entrepreneurship. And in 2008, she was chosen by the prestigious Prêt-à-porter Paris to show her collection.

Her efforts extend beyond fashion. In 1994, she created the fund SOUS ZERO in order to assist underprivileged women and children in Montreal. The designer continues to make an impact, both in the world of fashion and in the lives of those around her.

Marie Saint Pierre is a rare non-conformist in the commercial world of fashion. She works and lives by the philosophy that her artistic creations must go beyond function and esthetics. (Alexandra Gill, Globe and Mail)

Marie Saint Pierre's Fall 2009 line displayed her signature artistry with knits, jerseys, asymmetrical lines and plenty of volume. That wool bolero? Stunning. The designer's cutting edge and timeless designs keeps her discerning clientele eager to see what she'll offer next.

Our editor was dressed in Marie Saint Pierre leather look skirt, top and bolero at a recent Toronto International Film Festival event . Follow us on twitter to see the look.

SMYTHE: CANADIAN FASHION DESIGNER PROFILE

smythe lookbook3350.jpgSmythe has created essential wardrobe pieces that are both modern and emotional. The contemporary, flawlessly-tailored jackets and coats feature nostalgic colors, textures and prints that are distinct in their traditional menswear tailoring details.

Toronto fashion designers Christie Smythe and Andrea Lenczer met in high school math class, where they would draw what they wanted to wear to the school's semiformal. Five years later, the friendship became a design partnership.

Christie spent five years in the fashion industry in New York and Europe after graduating from Parsons, most notably with fashion houses Celine and Prada. Andrea spent several years in investment banking before becoming a buyer for the boutique department store Holt Refrew.

Smythe launched in 2004. Its made-in-Canada collection of perfectly tailored outerwear made it an instant success story in the fashion world.

"We're both working mothers, so we have our social lives, our work lives, we love to travel, and we have our home lives with our kids," says Andrea. "We try to design a jacket or coat for all those different scenarios and moods -- every collection feels like someone's closet."

smythe lookbook1400.jpg smythe lookbook2400.jpg

Fall 2009 marks the label's fifth anniversary. Their now-iconic line of jackets is worn by celebrities such as Blake Lively and Anne Hathaway, and has become a staple in the wardrobes of the fashion savvy everywhere. Smythe's fall line lives up to its classic reputation, with heritage and nostalgic influences in their signature silhouettes.

CANADA STYLE NEWS:TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL- OPENING NIGHT

Jennifer Connely, Paul Bettany Toronto Film Festival Red Carpet.JPG

                                Photo: W.Andrew Powell www.thegate.ca

With Matt Damon, George Clooney, Megan Fox, Jonas Brothers, Oprah Winfrey being just some of the mega stars in town for the 34th Toronto International Film Festival or TIFF, Toronto, Canada is the HOTTEST place on earth right now!

This evening the Toronto International Film Festival was opened with a premiere of the controversial film "Creation" about the life of Charles Darwin. Jennifery Connely stars in the film alongside her husband ( they play husband and wife in the movie) Paul Bettany.

Spotted on the red carpet of the premiere, Jennifer looked lovely in a red/burgundy sleeveless form fitting sheath with a peek-a-boo cutout in the front. She looked relaxed and mentioned that playing a film wife to her real life husband was not difficult at all!

We at CanadaStyle and our sister blog CanadaPopCulture, will be providing coverage on TIFF and the stars for the duration of the Film Festival, so stay tuned!

FASHION NIGHT OUT IN NEW YORK CITY IS GOING WILD

The madness seen in this picture is happening as we write ( this picture was taken 20 minutes ago) by one of our favorite celebrity stylists Rachel Zoe at Bergdorf fashion department store in New York City!  And no, they are NOT giving away designer fashions for free, this is just one store involved in Fashion Night Out global fashion shopping initiative which started just a few hours ago!

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words .

LINDSAY LOHAN: UNGARO'S NEW DESIGNER A POTENTIAL "HOT MESS" ?

Linsay Lohan Ungaro 250.jpgLegendary Paris fashion house Ungaro shocked the fashion and celebrity world yesterday by announcing that Lindsay Lohan will be the new "artistic designer" for the label. Apparently that means she will be helping their clothes have a younger appeal and she will tell them what she would wear.

Would you want to look like LiLo? Well it seems bloggers wouldn't because they are having a field day with this news calling it ridiculous. BudgetFashionista.com has even gone so far as to say that "fashion is officially dead." Her experience designing leggings does not prepare her to create a complete line for a couture house.

Lohan is notoriously unstable. The constant partying has ruined her once cute image. She has been seen recently shopping without a bra. Now she is having a lover's quarrel with Samantha Ronson live on Twitter for the whole world to see. Perez Hilton is thanking her for being "such a hot mess."

This bold publicity stunt could turn around and bite Ungaro. Lohan will be in Paris on October 4th to unveil the new line alongside new Ungaro chief designer Estrella Archs. If this line doesn't live up to expectations Ungaro and Lohan are sure to take another beating in the press and with customers.

CANADA STYLE SHOPPING REVIEW: AMERICAN APPAREL- YORKDALE SHOPPING CENTRE

We've been telling you for some time now that the 80's fashions are back.

Well a recent trip to an American Apparel store made it feel like they have never left.

This everything 'old is new again phenomen' has resonated with the tweenies and teenagers that form the core of the retailer's devoted shoppers. According to our own resident tweenie, no self respecting 6th grader can go without some item from the store.

Nevertheless for us having grown up in the 80's, the deja vue began as soon as we walked through the doors. One rack welcomed us with multi colored scrunchies ( yes, you read that right) and leg warmers. Another with headbands, assorted over the knee socks, wide belts and of course leggings in a variety of textures, colors and even designs. But most definitely the most eerie feeling ( we even had to take a moment here) was seeing disco pants neatly lined up on a wall rack right next to nylon disco style dresses. Catching the price tag of $123.00 for this retro hot pants style brought us back to reality quickly.

Apart from the retro gear, the store has a wide assortment of brightly colored hoodies, sweats and it's staple t-shirts.

Scrunchies start at $7.00, headbands $10.00, tights from $32.00, hoodies will set you back $48.00.

Overall a fun shopping experience, clothes selection was plentiful and the staff dutifully outfitted in the American Apparel attire pleasant and friendly. Here is the list of stores in Toronto:

PAT MCDONAGH: CANADIAN FASHION DESIGNER PROFILE

anokhi2009issue small.JPG

Pat McDonagh is an award-winning dynamic designer who is always a step ahead of the pack, yet never so far ahead that we lose touch with her. Her designs are youthfully avant-garde, yet retain an earthy, classic feel, often tinged with romanticism. (The Heart Truth.)

Irish-born Pat McDonagh first emerged on the Canadian fashion scene in the 1960s, during what has been called "the boutique phenomenon" and has been a powerful force ever since.

She pursued her BA and MA in England and Paris before costuming Diana Rigg in the original The Avengers television series and The Beatles. Upon moving to Canada, she launched her eponymous line which has clothed both entertainment royalty and literal royalty such as Diana, Princess of Wales.

The awards and accolades are plenty: The New York Times honored McDonagh with an award for design excellence; she received the prestigious American Legend Fur Award in Frankfurt; and she was recognized for bringing international attention to Canadian fashion with a Judy award. Stepping outside of apparel, McDonagh also designed an award-winning shoe that can be seen at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto.

Pat McDonagh's designs are found in specialty boutiques across North America. With over 40 years of fashion behind her, there's no slowing down for Canada's reigning queen of design.

FASHION TREND: VINTAGE FASHIONS- NEW COUTURE FOR THE MASSES

A few years ago the idea of vintage, was relegated to the under 30's who were experimental in their fashion choices. Well no more. Vintage, especially Vintage couture is de rigueur and popular celebrity stylists like Rachel Zoe are showing the way. Designer websites are creating sections dedicated to vintage couture and cool new sites are sprouting up who specialize in finding and selling vintage pieces. Best of all, the pieces are not only unique, they are affordable. A recent visit to www.shrimptoncouture.com showed designer pieces from the 40 to the 70's in mint condition in the $250 to $400 dollar range. All we can say is the same outfit today, would cost ten times that!

And for super affordable vintage ( not designer)  check out brownbagvintage at etsy , there you will find shoes and dresses starting at $25.00.

FALL FASHION TRENDS FROM PEOPLE STYLEWATCH MAGAZINE

We liked this 'breaking down fall trends' video presented by deputy editor from PEOPLE StyleWatch, Joyce Chang for two reasons.

Here at Canada Style Blog, we liked many of her fashion choices for the season such as: lots of red, ruffles and the saddle bag. And the second is that she concentrated on affordable looks which give you the latest trends without the whopping price tags! Clearly Joyce is an editor after our own heart.

Make sure to see all the fashion trends interpreted for you by the editor of Canada Style Blog and top Canadian fashion designers here.

CITY STREET STYLE-WASHINGTON, D.C

white house 2.JPG On a hot summer day in Washington, D.C it wasn't hard to figure out who were the tourists and who were the locals. We divided them into exhibit A and exhibit B.

Exhibit A- aka "the tourist" typically sported the appropriate tourist attire: shorts, t-shirt, running shoes or comfortable sandals, baseball cap or sun hat and the smart ones carried a water bottle. ( As the particular creature does not change regardless of city , country or hemisphere, we thought posting a picture would be rather redundant)..

Exhibit B- aka "the local" was spied in the downtown core called the National Mall. This rectangular downtown area houses most government buildings, museums and the White House. During the week, a local sighted in the area was typically working with and for or against the government and thus was dressed appropriately.

                              washington candids 2.JPG washington candids.JPG

We loved the fitted jacket and the sleek hairstyle on the left and the loose draped Tee and Tory Burch flats on the right. Louis Vuitton Brand would be pleased to know that it was the bag of choice for stylish D.C. ladies.

( Sorry we couldn't get a snap of Michele Obama,we looked for her all over the White House:)

SARAH JESSICA PARKER STYLES UP FOR SEX AND THE CITY 2

Recent Sex and the City sequel set sightings of Sarah Jessica Parker around New York City are giving us a preview of the fabulous fashions we are going to be seeing in the movie. ( And NO, it's not the 80's flashback) We are so glad that the set designer stayed on to style the movie after some earlier controversy.

Check out the gorgeous white draped mini dress in the video. But please don't ask us about who it's by just yet as we will only get to see the movie same time as you, May 28,2010.
